Standings, seasons, records and money

Baseball is a business, and a game of great strategy. These studies are intended to shed some light on how seasons work, and how to manage a team.
Is it true that teams streaking midway through the season usually end up on top?

How did your team do five or six years ago? Was it similar to how it's doing now?

When you're really good, a few more wins might cost a lot.

If we measured wins based on how much money a team was spending, who would be in first place?

A player's final average might not have been his average contribution to the team.
