Statistical studies

Study feature pages

There have been a lot of memorable teams over the history of the game. Here, in three studies, I attempt to shed some light on who were the best, worst and perhaps the most forgettable teams in the game's history.

Ballparks are often treated as if they are only to be measured subjectively. In these studies, I try to put some numbers with those parks, both to measure how they affect the game, and how they are built.

In several studies here, I explore baseball as a business, and as a game of strategy. How money, wins and the course of a season work and how teams win.

Studying individual accomplishments
In the midst of debates surrounding various records, studying these and other individual player accomplishments can shed a lot of light on what we're arguing about, and about how little some statistics tell us.
